Building a custom lesson

Start from a library lesson, change what you need, keep the alignment.

Duplicate, do not start blank

Duplicating a library lesson keeps the standards alignment and the rubric. Starting blank means rebuilding both by hand.

  1. Open a library lesson close to what you want.
  2. Choose Duplicate to my org.
  3. Edit the brief, the questions and the reading level.
  4. Save as draft, preview as a student, then publish to your org.

What you can and cannot change

Everything about the content is editable. The rubric dimensions are not — they are what makes scores comparable across classes.
